One Bright Thing

Being Just The Way We Are

Somedays, being childlike brings you the most joy. For me, it was eating french vanilla ice cream in a cone. I may be compensating for the Quinoa salad I ate for lunch. Isn’t everyone allowed cheat days now and then?

The best part was eating it, so the ice cream wasn’t dripping from the cracked tip at the bottom.

I cherished every bite, ignoring the brain freeze. These childlike moments put you in touch with your roots. These moments remind us to be just the way we are. Not the way society tries to morph us into being.

To know what you prefer instead of humbly saying Amen to what the world tells you you ought to prefer, is to have kept your soul alive.
