Achieving Your Dreams Through Visualizations
Visualizations can be a powerful source of joy. Recently, I visualized myself playing a violin duet with my son, the piano player. There is a back story to this.
My son had his first unofficial recital at a senior center during the holidays. He did a great job playing his songs. One performance moved me out of all the performers that day.
It was the piano teacher and her son’s duet. She played the piano while her son played the violin beside her. Their performance had a lasting impact on me. The magical moment they experienced as a mother and son touched me.
Ever since I have been visualizing myself playing the violin. Sometimes it’s to the song Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift, and other times it’s something else. I imagine engaging in these musical jams at home with my son. I visualize us playing for our friends and family.
Visualizations are the first step to achieving our dreams. They lay out the path before us, even if it’s just in our imagination. They are the precursor to many tiny actions that lay ahead of us.
Have you been visualizing anything lately? Do share your experiences.
P.S. My son will only take this seriously once I sign up for a violin lesson. So stay tuned for that experience.
