One Bright Thing

A Delightful Walk In The Park

My walk in a nearby park always fills my day with joy. Some days, it becomes the highlight of the day. With so many sights to see, it’s a movie, not just a walk.

This park near my home is about .7 miles long. It is home to Tennis courts, a children’s playground, a large bbq picnic area, a volleyball court, and a bocce ball court.

My favorite to visit the park is early in the morning when the park is still foggy. Depending on the day, I experience various things at this park. Most days, it’s home to many walkers and runners. Occasionally, I enjoy seniors doing tai chi, new moms doing an outdoor workout class, adults playing volleyball, and people playing tennis.

With YMCA right next to it, I also see the folks working out behind glass doors in the gym. Even though the gym looks tempting, I wouldn’t trade my outdoor walk and run for anything.

My favorite park moments are when I see dogs enabling conversations between their pet owners and breaking down any barriers between random strangers.

No matter the day, my walk in the park never disappoints and brightens my day with joy.
